CloudQuant CEO Morgan Slade participated on a panel at the STAC’s (Securities Traders Association of Chicago) Mid Winter Meeting about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it’s impacting future traders and analysts. Moderated by Jessica Titlebaum Darmoni from the Title Connection, Slade was joined by Brian Peterson, Algorithmic Trading Lead at DV Trading, Inderdeep Singh from CME Group’s Innovation Lab and Matthew Dixon, Assistant Professor of Finance and Statistics at Illinois Institute of Technology.
The panelists talked about what Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning meant to them and their firms, as well as where they were on the spectrum of trust including regression models, deep neural networks, and reinforcement learning. The panelists also looked at key challenges and benefits of AI, how it is leveraged at trading firms and hedge funds as well as in seeking alpha.
The group also looked at how data science and machine learning will shape the next generation of traders and analysts as well as what skills they will need to succeed in this evolving ecosystem.
